Samsung in the race with Android based media players

Bangalore: Samsung has come up with its latest gizmos 'Galaxy S' Wi-Fi 4.0 and 5.0 media players to cater music services to the music freaks. These gadgets are adorned by proficient functionalities and features. The media player consists of 4-inch and 5-inch display screens with 1GHz and Android 2.2 operating system. The Galaxy S media players are to be launched in Russia followed by Switzerland and other countries. These portable media players will function like a normal Android device but with no cellular communication. The features of these devices include; Google Android 2.2 FroYo, upgradable to 2.3 Gingerbread, access to Android applications, VoIP Voice and Video Calls via Qik, DivX HD, DivX, XviD, WMV and H264 support and 16GB and 32GB variants, expandable via microSD card slots. These gadgets give Smartphone experience. Besides users can also enjoy video communications and music entertainment with multi- codec support. Interesting apps from the Android market can be personalized by the users. Google's map services and directory applications will also be supported by GPS. Other facilities from these devices include access to social networking sites. The prices of these gadgets are not yet unveiled.
